ANNUAL PERMIT

The Commissioner of Highways is authorised to issue special permits to non-divisible loads with a GVW exceeding State weight limits as well as the higher limits for standard overweight permits. The duration of these permits cannot exceed 1 year (Mass. Gen. Laws Ann. ch. 85, §30A). Vehicles operating with a special non-divisible load permit may exceed the weight limits set forth by the permit by 5 percent (Mass. Gen. Laws Ann. ch. 90, §19A).
