Travel is permitted during daylight hours from sunrise to sunset, Saturday from sunrise until noon. Travel not permitted on Sunday, or the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Provisions are made for limited Sunday operations in urbanized areas: travel is permitted 3 a. to 7:30 am, 9 am to 4 pm, and 7 pm to sunset (with pilot cars).

When an oversize movement is made within an urbanized area between 3 a.m. and sunrise, the permitted vehicle and load shall be illuminated with additional lighting on all sides so as to be clearly visible from 1,000 feet in all directions. Headlamps and rear lights of permitted vehicle are to be illuminated when moving.
