Running Hours and Holiday Restrictions

Movement is permitted 1/2 after sunrise until 1/2 hour after sunset, Monday through Sunday. Travel is permitted 24 hours a day with lighting as required on the permit. Local restrictions apply in Boise, Caldwell, Idaho Falls and other cities. Holiday travel may depend on dimensions and will referenced in the permit.

"Oversized Load" Banner Regulations and Requirements

All oversize loads exceeding legal width. Size: 5' long, 12" high Letters: Black, 8" high, 1" stroke Background: Yellow

Flag Requirements

Required on all over-width or over-length loads: Red or fluorescent orange flags, 18" square are required on front and rear corners of the load all when the rear overhang exceeds the end of the trailer by four (4) feet or more.

Warning Lights: Color and Placement

Lights are only required on those vehicles traveling after dark. (dark is defined as one-half (1/2) hour after sunset to one-half (1/2) hour before sunrise). Lights may be steady or flashing. Front and any load extensions extremities lights: Amber Rear: Red lights. The lights must be visible from a minimum of 500 feet.
