  1. Rear overhang equal to 15' or greater will need a front and/or rear pilot car or escort.

    Front overhang of 15'  or more will need a front and/or rear pilot car or escort.

    Total length more than 99'  will need a front and/or rear pilot car or escort. 

    Night movements of shipments that are 10' wide or wider need a minimum of 1 front escort and a flashing amber light attached to the rear of the load when traveling on a 2 lane non divided road. 

    Night movements of shipments that are 10' wide or wider need a minimum of 1 rear escort and a flashing amber light attached to the rear of the load when traveling on a 2 lane divided road. 

    Daylight movements of shipments that are 13' wide or wider need a minimum of 1 front escort and a flashing amber light attached to the rear of the load when traveling on a 2 lane non divided road. 

    Daylight movements of shipments that are 13' wide or wider need a minimum of 1 rear escort and a flashing amber light attached to the rear of the load when traveling on a 2 lane non divided road. 

    Depending on routing and other variables such as construction, load conditions, weather, etc.. Police escorts can be required for loads that exceed 20' in width.
